Pre-requisites
The one pre-requisite to training is to have had a full session from a trained practitioner. The reason for this is that the method is so revolutionary there is no other modality with which it can be compared, so a future trainee needs a session to appreciate and understand how it works, in other words to acquire subjective reality. Reading provides objective reality, but no amount of reading will provide the essential subjective reality. From a practical point of view it would be totally unrealistic for someone to help others at a professional level if they themselves lacked personal experience with the material. It would be a case of the blind leading the blind. This aspect is even more important should a practitioner wish to train others-it would then really be a case of the blind leading the blind!

The Humanitarian Project
The Trauma Counselling Course was inspired by an American Psychologist America who was doing voluntary work with brutalised women in Africa.
She asked John Mace if there was a simple way to use his research. Trauma counselling was the answer!
She has just been exposed to the course and is over the moon.(Sept 2008)
The technical material in this course is taken from the MEM Practitioner’s Course. Its purpose is to provide a quick and permanent relief from a traumatic experience.
It does not replace the MEM Practitioner’s course. The Trauma Counselling Course a bare minimum of theory with the focus being on one 'feelings' procedure. It is offered for free to charitable and voluntary groups.

Local students are trained ‘in house’, but all other training, both out of town and overseas, is done through correspondence. This uses the internet for written materials and the phone or Skype for verbal communication.

The Mace Method gets it power from its simplicity and in keeping with that, the training course has been stripped of any superfluous data, which is why it is so comparatively brief, but its apparent brevity in no way detracts from its effectiveness.
About 50 hours of student time for the course is average. In house students are scheduled for one day a week, because they need time to assimilate the data. Full time study was tried to expedite training, but as another example of the empirical nature of the work, it was abandoned as it did not produce satisfactory results. Correspondence trainees set their own schedule.

There are two courses, Basic and Advanced. The graduates who use the method are called Mace Energy Method Practitioners (MEM) - under the field of Energy Psychology, not counsellors, for the method is totally devoid of self-disclosure by the client and advise on the part of the practitioner, even if asked for.
The basic course trains students on the principles and theories of Causism, including the chronological development of the Mace Method. It Includes the basic skills needed to dis-create any negative identity and how to locate all negative identities apart from those behind psychosomatic ills.
The advanced course trains people on handling addictions, and psychosomatic problems and of course includes the theories involved.

The basic course comprises four modules and contains illustrations to graphically interpret the many abstract and intangible ideas involved.
As part of the training fee, students receive whatever sessions are necessary to handle anything triggered by the material as well as anything that has been triggered by life and living. This applies to all students, both in-house and correspondence. Once enrolled, the very first action for all students is to eliminate any problem whatsoever associated with study, training, education or learning, so that they are then totally free of any hang-ups that impede the ability to study effectively. As a matter of record, to date not one trainee has been free of some upset or loss to do with previous learning and some have several who has never had to learn anything!
In house training is restricted to small groups of three to four students per Trainer, which maximises individual involvement and personalises the training. Correspondence students are of necessity trained individually, but because they do not have the benefit of witnessing other students receiving sessions in the academy, five recordings of live sessions made with the approval of clients featured, are part of the training material. All students therefore acquire both objective and subjective reality of the model.
