The Mace Energy Method (MEM)
MISSION STATEMENT:
To assist people to be in charge of their lives
and live their own dreams.

The revolutionary Mace Energy Method utilises the inherent power of the human spirit to eliminate emotional problems, hence its ready classification as a form of Energy Psychology.

Although MEM is a form of Energy Psychology it is a unique, independent procedure, so despite its classification as Energy Psychology, it has no connection whatsoever with any other Energy Psychology modality.

What is MEM ?
Dr. John Mace PhD.
Australian Dr. John Mace was awarded a PhD by Stafford University England for his unique and ground breaking research into emotional health (The Mace Energy Method).  Used by trained Practitioners around the world, MEM is a powerful tool for emotional healing that is having a remarkable and lasting effect on peoples' lives. MEM works well on all ages - Children, Teens, Adults and Aged.
Based on years of research and study, this simple but extraordinarily effective process will allow you to regain control of your life and find the real you. Not only can it put you on the path to emotional and psychological health and eliminate the stress that underlines many physical health problems, it can also lead to a marked improvement in your energy, motivation and confidence.

In a total departure from conventional counselling, The MEM does not involve any self disclosure and requires very few sessions, if you cannot get to a practitioner, sessions can easily be carried out over the telephone.

MEM has absolutely nothing to do with religion, but having said that it is generally accepted that we are composed of three elements; mind, body & spirit. That concept is perfectly true as far as it goes, but what the Causism research has uncovered is that there is a fourth element that has been named an Identity.

These identities are of two types; knowingly created pro-survival identities and unknowingly created NON-SURVIVAL identities. An apt analogy of a negative identity is to compare one to a virus in a computer which interferes with the normal (rational) workings. You know the virus is there by the negative results, but you cannot see the cause.

Negative identities in a person will manifest in many ways, to name a few.... low moods, lack of energy and motivation, depression, fears, phobias, low self esteem or lack of confidence and many more. Once again you know something is wrong you can’t see it but you can feel it.

Research has proven that these negative identities - which sometimes have been around since childhood - ruin lives, stop us achieving or even having goals or dreams and are the cause of negative patterns which plague lives. Rocky or unhappy relationships are a product of these negative identities, which stop you being your real self.

Every type of negative identity depletes your energy, motivation, confidence and most importantly it has been found they oppose your own dreams, goal and purpose and produce many unwanted consequences in your life.

MEM only addresses the negative identities, for they hold all the negative aspects of our life, when they are gone all your positive energy returns immediately.
The Fourth Dimension - Identity, Mind, Body and Spirit
Analysing Ourselves?

This research has proven that trying to analyse or change our own unwanted emotions cannot be done and often only makes things worse.
Edward De Bono was correct when he said :

“Logic never changes any emotion or feeling. You can spend hours with logical argument trying to change some feeling or prejudice; you are not likely to succeed!”

The Mace Method helps you succeed in changing anything you want to in minutes not hours.

Don't Think of an Elephant
When you read the book title, your mind automatically conjured up a picture of an elephant, even though the instruction was not to think about one. Now, do not think about your bed! You have now done the same thing with your bed. You have again conjured up a mental image of your bed, even though instructed not to think about it.

If you have never wondered why the above happens, well do so now…

Like every other thinking person down the ages who has fruitlessly pondered this phenomenon, you no doubt do not have an answer either!

Well if you would like to know the answer it is in the book. Not only is that information in the book, but also much more equally revolutionary data concerning personal well being and happiness.

Don’t Think of an Elephant! presents readers with an understanding of the mind that will leave even the most sceptical with the feeling that something has been explained to them that they ought to have known!

This book will truly change the course of your life!

The Mace Energy Method (MEM)

© 2008 Fred P. Gallo

Energy psychology is a theory and an umbrella for a variety of several therapeutic methods.  What makes these methods distinct is the view that energetic structures or disruptions are at the core of psychological problems. While psychological problems involve neurological, chemical, genetic, cognitive, behavioral, systemic, and psychodynamic levels, at the most fundamental level they are comprised of energy fields. This position is supported by modern physics.  Psychological problems must involve different energy frequencies that conflict with healthy frequencies.  This is also compatible with the bio-photonics of Fritz Albert Popp who discovered that healthy cells emit different photon frequencies than diseased cells. The negative frequencies involved in psychological problems impinge upon our bodies and we experience negative emotions and all their effects, which can show up as physical problems. Eliminate the energetic disruptions (frequencies) and the psychological problem is gone.  And this approach could also eliminate many physical problems as well.

My first book introduced several methods labeled as Energy Psychology (Gallo 1998, 2005).  Some of the approaches covered in that book were Behavioral Kinesiology (BK), Thought Field Therapy (TFT), Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT), Negative Affect Erasing Method (NAEM), and Energy Diagnostic and Treatment Methods (EDxTM).  In part, all of these approaches work with the meridian system and most of them involve stimulating acupoints, such as by tapping, to eliminate psychological problems.

Now I’d like to introduce you to another method. Its developer, eighty-one eight-one year old Dr. John Mace, has been evolving this approach for about fifty years. Dr. Mace was a master mariner and experienced an epiphany after considering Alfred Korzybski’s concept of time.  In that moment he came to the realization that there is both a material universe and an energy universe.  And for one of those “eternal moments,” he was suspended in time and began his journey into the development of the Mace Energy Method (MEM).

MEM is based on several revolutionary findings.  The first is that “what we resist persists.”  Psychological problems are the result of resistance, and you cannot eliminate them by continuing to resist.  Remember Einstein’s statement that a problem cannot be solved with the same kind of thinking used when it was created?  In MEM, psychological problems are the result of Negative Identities that are formed in moments of emotional upset when your consciousness is lower.  While in the throws of the upset the tendency is to resist it, and this in turn results in an energetic blockage, what Mace refers to as an energy ridge.  Similar to the way that two Teutonic plates exert opposing force and form a mountain, you resist the emotional upset and form an energy ridge.  At the same time you make a decision that mirrors the upset, which is also resisted.  The decision might be something like “I am not good enough.”  This is the “I Am” (the Real You) given a negative form (“not good enough”).
MEM also involves a unique view of Mind.  While there have been many definitions of mind down through the ages (including the ego mind and mind as the intelligence factor), this mind does not think and it is not YOU.  This mind is akin to a computer monitor. A computer monitor does not compute; it helpfully gives you a visual of what you’re working on.  Same with the mind: it simply produces an image of what you’re placing your attention on.

As an experiment, close your eyes and think “fruit.”  What comes up on your mind screen?  Is it an apple, a banana, a pear, pomegranate…?  Then put your attention on the concept like love.  What comes up?  Is it a person or thing that you love?  Or is it an image of a heart?  Now what about fear?  What do you see?  Is it Lions, tigers, or bears?  If you don’t think you see an image, what thought comes to mind?  Therein lies the image.  In each instance your mind is able to generate an image that is representative of the concept.  You are putting your attention on the object or concept and your mind generates the image.  Your mind can also generate images if you put your attention on embarrassment, shame, or the idea of not being good enough. There’s a difference between you and your mind. Your mind is not the thinker; you are the thinker.

Everything that you see is not you; you cannot see yourself. This is a spiritual principle and a fact.  You can see portions of your body and you can see your reflection in a mirror.  But that is not you.  Actually, you are the being “beneath” the surface.  You are the source of consciousness and life and the fundamental energy.  And then you have a body and a mind and identities.  Some of your identities are survival oriented and other work against you.  Positive identities are roles or sub-selves that we use to accomplish survival and happiness goals: mother, father, spouse, gardener, physician, therapist, minister, etc. Alternatively negative identities work against you.  Consider identities such as “Born looser,” “Stupid,” or “A Total Failure.”  Many people identify with these core beliefs, although when we consider them identities, they are obviously energetically embodied. It should be noted that identities are separate entities embodied within the psyche.  In total they make up your personality.

An identity is something you identify with and you give energy to.  It’s like a car battery that is able to store energy, but not produce it.  Without being adequately charged, the battery will die. A negative identity also stores energy and gets its charge from you through your resistance and by reinforcing it in your thoughts and behaviors.

MEM offers a wonderful solution to this problem of negative identities. If you put your attention on the notion of “upset,” your mind will generate a memory of an event that has possibly been the bane of your life.  This event will be comprised of two elements: an upsetting emotion and a decision about you.  The emotion might be shame and the decision will be the result of a knee-jerk reaction about you.  For example, in the moment of upset you may conclude: “I am worthless.”  So at this moment, your Ruin is created.  You now become a person who suffers from Shame and thinks of yourself and behave as if you are worthless.    To take Shakespeare a bit out of context for our purposes:

               All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts….

Now with your attention on each of these elements (the emotion and the decision) in turn, your mind will generate an image that represents each and is directly connected to each element (identity).  The image may not be at all rational, but that does not matter.  As you keep your attention on the image, it will go through some interesting transformations, culminating in the image disappearing.  And once the image is gone, the identity is also gone. When this is done thoroughly, the memory is no longer bothersome and the negative emotion and negative decision no longer apply to you.  You are beginning to experience true freedom, which is your birthright.

As you separate yourself from the identity by watching the image, generally the image grows at first and eventually shrivels, crumbles, or fades into nothingness.  By contrast, your sense of self usually becomes quite small and then much larger.  The method helps you to dis-identify or dissociate from the image and therefore from the identity.   Then the real you can shine through.  The real you is healthy, joyful, loving, serene, and pure potentiality.  You are I AM: the you prior to any negative form.

This is one aspect of MEM. In addition to the ruin, other negative identities may be running your life.  These can be easily located and dis-created similarly.   Relationship problems are also a function of negative identities, as are many body problems.  Don’t Think of an Elephant is the book in which John introduces his amazingly effective approach (Mace 2007).  Basic and advanced training is available directly from Dr. Mace and authorized trainers.
